Forever Designs

Forever designs is so much more than a concrete company. They are artists, fabricators, engineers, designers, sculptors, and craftsman.

When we first engaged with Jason, his vision for a new website and digital experience was simple and clear: "paint a clear picture of the boutique craftsman experience we give our clients." We then spent time with Jason to understand his work and we learned very quickly... crafting with concrete is no joke! It is a remarkable material that ages beautifully (almost like a living organism) but requires a deep understanding of its characteristics and maintenance. Working with concrete requires engineering, chemistry, and mastery. Furthermore, working with a substance that hardens and changes over time and gives little to no forgiveness requires absolute precision. Telling this story became our focus throughout the website build! 

The Website UX/UI

Our first idea for UX/UI design was to head in the direction of clean architectural magazines. Clean, lots of white space, and tasteful imagery. We were inspired by Architectural Digest and urban environments. After additional thought, we started to map out the idea of using textures and colors that would hint at the concrete grain and materials. We began using these textures in various places to help provide depth and thoughtful texture. We also loved using the soft cream and deep maroon colors to bring pops of energy and luxury throughout the entire website build.

Brand Story and Process

Through our time with Jason, we learned that making concrete doesn't just start with making forms, it starts with science, engineering, and sometimes CAD software and renderings. It's also a lot like baking - different ingredients and mixtures lead to very different results. Concrete is also VERY heavy. Thus, the weight needs to be considered. We had a blast walking through the craft-making process with Jason to outline his steps and tell the story of how he and his team carefully measure, prepare, cut, color, mix, cure, finish, and transport their work. We also had no idea how many finishes and styles were possible! We also learned that helping clients discover what kind of concrete they want requires a sophisticated client discovery experience and entails a ton of unique engineering processes and technical methods. Forever Designs truly is an old-school luxury craftsman business! 

After a 12 week design and build process, we were able to give Jason and his team a thoughtfully crafted and beautiful digital display of their work, expertise, and passion for concrete. And our feedback from Jason was that this was the first time his story had been fully told through his website - something he was finally proud of.
